Was there any question about it? Art has undeniable power, and it’s effects on us are powerful.

Here’s an excellent hour of radio from NPR with four stories about amending art history’s complicated racial history, about transforming rough neighborhoods, about rethinking the status of Arabic language in the world, and about the physiological and emotional effects of music.

Program highlight: Houston’s own Magda Sayeg‘s talk about the unexpectedly emotional reactions she elicits by wrapping public objects in knitted yard. She started her series of “yarn bombs“with a stop sign in Montrose and has gone onto wrap buses and statues and more!
