We are very interested to have learned about this photography show opening this weekend in Austin. Landmarks, the public art program at University of Texas at Austin, commissioned photographer Ann Hamilton to shoot a series of portraits — part of her ongoing project — specifically for UT’s Dell Medical School.

She welcomed all who had either provided or received care and invited participants to hold an object they considered emblematic of care-giving or comfort. Hamilton photographed more than five hundred members of the Austin community.

The show opens Saturday, but there are two nights of free events to launch the show, starting tonight.

If you can go, please tell us about it.
